I am a Lecturer in Psychology at University College London. I teach a graduate seminar on Social Cognition and a graduate module on Moral Cognition. My research centers on the psychology of punishment, investigating how it functions as both reinforcement and communication to shape behavior, enforce norms, and promote cooperation. I explore the cognitive and social factors that influence punishment’s effectiveness, with the aim of understanding how it can be used to build trust and maintain institutional integrity without causing harm or division.

“I strive to foster intellectual curiosity, guiding students toward independent thought and deeper understanding.”

I have a PhD in Psychology from Harvard University (2023), where I received multiple awards, including the Amartya Sen Graduate Fellowship. I also have an MSc in Research Methods from University College London (2015) and a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Delhi (2013), both with distinctions.

I am deeply engaged in teaching and mentorship. I am dedicated to creating a dynamic learning environment where students are encouraged to think critically and engage with challenging ideas. In my teaching, I strive to foster intellectual curiosity, guiding students toward independent thought and deeper understanding. As a mentor, I work closely with students to develop their research skills, offering personalized support as they refine their ideas and pursue innovative projects. My goal is to empower students to become confident thinkers and contributors, both in their academic work and beyond.

My work has been published in journals such as Psychological Review and Cognition, and I have presented at numerous academic conferences. I remain committed to both advancing research in this field and fostering the next generation of scholars.
